I don’t know what the exact winning times will be but the distance races will be A LOT slower, I wouldn’t be surprised if the 5K is as slow as the 1340 at the London OG.

I will be surprised if ALL the fast Africans let it dawdle, knowing the kicks of the others. The spirit of Pre has to be alive in some of them!

They have A/C at track level. Not quite a furnace.

I saw somewhere, on this board I think, that 10C is the most that they can cool the stadium relative to outdoors. I do not know if this is correct, if it is for the stands (warmer?) or the track, etc. How much lower will the dew point be; hopefully they will lower the dew point by about the same, but taking moisture out of the air is hard as it equilibrates rapidly, I think (maybe not as quickly as temperature) because you are reversing boiling water, which is 500 times more energetic than changing the water temperature 1 degree (C I presume).

If it is hotter than hell out there, how soft will that track get? And how will it affect the sprinters and distance runners?

Their web-site says they can keep it at 26C (80F) at track-level.

The Doha DL usually had many great marks in track events, even pre-AC.

in terms of sprints both Coleman and lyles will break the American records in the 100 and 200.

Michael Norman if not for his illness earlier in the season i say would have gone sub 43, but a new American record could be on the cards?.
