A total positive spin, as one would expect from any LOC.

70%, 67%, and 50% of what? Total stadium seating capacity? I think not, as watching on tv shows a majority of empty seats. Percentage of what they were hoping for? Maybe more likely, but if so, I wonder what they were looking for.

They're packing in seat fillers dressed in formal garb tonight, most in the upper rows on the backstretch

Of course x East African expats turning up for a distance race and leaving just after it finishes probably counts as x seats occupied.

Unlike the NBC telecast, on the IAAF audio feed I'm not hearing any echo.

My gosh, they've hosted a Grand Prix or DL meet there all but two years since 1997. This is not the area's first experience with world-class field and track.

There's going to be an hour of downtime between the w400 heats and the m110h heats with no field action. Enjoy the hour of medal ceremonies everyone!

One issue is current Middle Eastern geopolitics where Qatar apparently isn't popular with some of its neighbours. I think when they were awarded these Champs there would have been some spectators coming from some of these countries.

In fact, I think some of them have actually boycotted Doha (UAE?).

"The organisers have since blamed the start of the working week and an event schedule designed for European TV audiences. But that cannot hide a simple fact. These world athletics championships have been a PR disaster for athletics, the sportís president Sebastian Coe, and for Qatar, a country which has spent the past decade buying up rights to host major events, including the 2022 football World Cup."

Yeah, thousands of track fans from Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain would flood the stadium...
