09-15-2019 03:01 AMThe Minister is simply sending a message to the Federation. Stop resting on your laurels expecting the government to always step in and fund teams that the BAAA is responsible for funding.
If the 25,000 is deemed sufficient to send the athletes and a modest crew of officials then that's what they shall have.

09-15-2019 01:22 PMThe article says the federation requested $116,000 in February. Also that they received $150K and $140K for 2015 and 2017 respectively. So this year's $116K request wasn't an unexpectedly huge amount.
If that money will be reimbursed by the host country, I'd hope they'd be able to find a bank or corporate sponsor or even a wealthy individual who would lend them the money.
But if that amount is for expenses beyond what is reimbursable, I have to wonder what is really going on; the $116K requested amount is only for 10 athletes!

09-15-2019 11:16 PMGarry, just out of curiosity, if somebody started a Go Fund Me page for an athlete, would it be breaking any rules?
