A friend just e-mailed that he died today. I hope this doesn't sound flip, but I hope he took one of his 'two tickets to paradise', because he seemed like an authentic blue-collar kind of guy - like The Boss.

My high school soundtrack lost a giant. The Ronnie Spector reveal in the Take Me Home Tonight video still gives me chills. RIP

Long time part of his performance band is a neighbor who was really broken up about the passing of Eddie Money.

And now Ric Ocasek. Another blow for those of us who came of age in the 80's. Sounds like it was unexpected.

Now that the Rule of 3 is in effect Steve Perry better watch his back...

In the article they mention two Cars songs which are accurate although Ric Ocasek did not sing "Just What I Needed". The lead on that tune was the late Benjamin Orr as were a number of, particularly the early, hits from the band. Ocasek sung lead on enough of them that they could have picked two he sang.

Ocasek's line at The Cars RRHOF induction:

"It was decided that Ben would be the singer and I would be the good looking member."

As to Mr. Perry....please no. I don't want to spend a couple of hours reviving my wife.
