I would say a "thirty-five-hundred-pound" rhino, as I was running like Hell!

Or while cowering inside your car as the rhino rolls it like it's a football.

I think some Americans might say the rhino weighs three and a half thousand pounds. Or almost two tons.

But other than calling it the metric mile, everyone should say fifteen hundred meters.

If I write a check for $1,500, I write “Fifteen Hundred” because it is shorter to write than “One Thousand-Five Hundred.” But, of course, the younger generation does not write checks anymore. :-)

Yeah, writing out checks with thousands and hundreds and dollars and cents is a drag. If is is a recurring account that will credit me with a surplus, I sometimes just round up.

For the record, this is only the second thread (out of more than 55,000 MB threads) in which the word "rhinoceros" appears. The last time, more than 10 years ago, it was used once, by Halfmiler2, who shortened it to rhino in this current thread.

Over here a check is a pattern on an item of clothing.
