    Theoretically, the federation could have required competing in the African champs (which would make Zurich impossible) as a condition of being on Niger's team for Doha, and also entered Seyni in the 100/200 at the African champs instead of 200/400 or 400 alone.

    But I lean towards them being more sensible than that. If there is a sensitive situation which they know about, they're doing the right thing so far by not letting the whole world know.

    Couple of points to throw in. Seyni wanted to compete at the Londond DL over 400m but was denied a Visa by the UK authorities, which is why she competed in Niger instead.
    Her coach, Claude Guillaume, coaches all African runners, who all competed at the African Championships.
