Just received call from family that Tom O’Hara passed away last night. We were long time friends, running buddies, and shared same coach. He was an unbelievable athlete and determined runner who could have given Snell a race in1964 OG if he had not gotten sick days before qualifying heats.
His memory will live on as the Chicago miler legend forever

08-28-2019 04:52 PMSorry to hear this news. Tom O'Hara was a great miler, especially indoors. I never got to meet him, but I did have the pleasure of seeing him run a few times.

08-29-2019 12:18 PMA good friend of mine was a high school pal with Tom Sullivan at St. George's in Chicago. Tom just sent out a heartfelt e mail to many, tellling of his years-long friendship with O'Hara and the coaching they both received from Amidei. My friend shared that Sullivan e mail with me, but I don't feel it's right to publicly post it here.
