They did vice versa, naming Williams to one of the three spots, with Jonielle Smith as the alternate who will get the vacated spot if Williams is banned.

I assume she won't have to appear in person at the hearing and will travel to Doha (or region) to compete if she's able to.

I'm curious as to how exactly she was named to the team.

The spot she would have earned at the National Senior Championships is invalidated by the positive test.

Both samples are positive for the diuretic. She won't be refuting the testing process (e.g. VCB) or result; her argument will be that her medication was tainted. Whether or not her positive test is the result of deliberate intent or not, the fact that she's afoul of the anti-doping rules renders her result void. Her third place, the time she ran, the World Junior Record; those are all voided by the accepted positive AAF, aren't they?

If the testing process itself and the test results aren't disputed, the AAF is solid, regardless of intent. That invalidates the race result, and everything earned from the result, including qualifying for a spot on the national team. Even if JADCO find her not culpable for the positive AAF and issue only a public warning, the positive AAF is valid and her race result isn't. Or am I missing something?

hard to find fault with your logic regards the validity of the 10.94 (for any purposes)

Because diuretics aren't performance enhancing themselves, but are used to mask other PEDs. Maybe if they found that the diuretics got into her system through tainted medication, the performance itself would be considered legit.

i don't believe there is any precedent for allowing a performance made with presence of a diuretic. Could be wrong.

If the 10.94 is the only invalidated performance, she does have other marks within the qualifying standard, no?

[This comment gives no consideration to Jamaica's selection rules].
