If Lasitskene weren't jumping so well, I'd have to conclude that Global Warming causes Global Gravity Increasing!

There is NO ONE who stands out - all have shown [take-off]feet of clay.

I can name 8 prospects for the Final, but have zero confidence in even picking a medalist.

With Barshim and Bondarenko apparently injury-hindered, we have alphabetically

    Akimenko
    Ghazal
    Ivanov
    Ivanyuk
    Nab..
    Protsenko
    Pryz....
    Starc

who have jumped 2.30 bot not much more, and certainly not consistently.

All this makes for either the most boring event at Doha, or the most exciting!!

OTOH, wHJ is looking the best it has in many years, with 7 women over 2 meters. Granted, two of them probably won't be doing Doha, but we're a world away from the misetable Rio final.

Here are five more men's high jumpers that have a chance for a medal in Doha:

    1) Sottile (2.33)
    2) Yu (2.31)
    3) Mason (2.31)
    4) Zayas (2.30)
    5) Nedasekau (2.29) *(2nd @ '18 Euro Champs)

I believe Akimenko isn't an ANA.
I still wouldn't rule out Barshim and/or Bondarenko as medal contenders. And I can easily imagine someone from outside the group you listed medaling, or even winning, in Krymarenko 2005 fashion.

Who only has an outdoor best of 2.28... But who knows, maybe he will get back to his winter form.

Do we know for sure that KJT and Thiam are not doing the High Jump in Doha?

KJT is not a 2-meter jumper. As for Thiam, it's just my guess she won't because of the schedule. The other one I meant was Chicherova, who doesn't have ANA status.
