With a description of one of the greatest of all time, I'll have to guess Peter Thompson but I'm not sure if his career in the US extended to bambam time.

Interesting, and somewhat unbelievable - Ryan Day wins first Big Ten coach of the year for Ohio State since 1979

in an NFL column in the SF Chron this morning (bf mine):

<<• Although the NFC seems to be the dominant conference this season, there is a glaring exception. No one seems to want to win the NFC East; the Cowboys are leading the division at 6-6, and the Eagles (5-7) just bombed in Miami. This is when soccer’s concept of relegating teams seems like a great idea: relegate the NFC East to the Pac-12 and promote the SEC West.>>

That is amazing considering the fact that they were perfect in 2002, 2006 and 2012 when no other Big 10 team was.

Thanks for sharing this. I'll do likewise with my friends who see everything through purple-colored glasses. The SEC West is brutal this year, especially if you're Auburn, who also played Georgia, Florida and Oregon, or Texas A&M who also played Clemson and Georgia.

Meanwhile, poor little ole Clemson don't get no respect.

And THAT'S why I love Dabo, the Rodney Dangerfield of coaches.
He'll have his kids so freaking high in the playoffs, opposing coaches will be screaming for drug-testing for crack cocaine before, during, and after the games!! He will scheme the other teams so far out of their game, they won't know which bus to get on afterwards.

Yeah, well, I don't care about a thing Dabo Sweeney says since his famous quote that he would not want to coach college football if the kids were paid - while he collects his $8 million salary along with bonuses.
