    Also your personal preference for the coaches poll is just that. I would wager heavily that the AP poll is more often cited by the media in general when talking about college football rankings.

    Of course the media cites its own poll. What else would you expect? The reason I use the Coaches poll is because it's more reflective of the thinking of the Committee. The mainstream football media's primary objective is to create storylines and stir controversy. The Coaches are more concerned with picking the best teams. Go look at the final 2014 regular season polls to see what I'm talking about.
