The sport of netball, an early derivative of Naismith's basketball played in Commonwealth countries by women, used to complain in Australia all the time about lack of exposure/money despite being the biggest participant sport. All the while, women would not attend the matches of their local teams.

Then, somebody got organised, and within a few years, they could draw 10k to a match that used to get 300. Guess what? Exposure and money started to appear when women started attending their own sport! The last I checked they had a better deal than men's basketball.

Well, they do flock to those sorts of movies, just nowhere near as frequently as they do to crap comic book movies.

This is ultimately it. Financiers don't love men in preference to women, they love money in preference to all people. They wil pay the least they can get away with to everyone, at every opportunity, every single time.

Tennis gets equal pay at majors because the women demanded it and could point to TV ratings as good as, or superior to, the men. The moneymen were forced to provide equal pay because that's where the money is.

Famously, in porn, the women make much more money then men. It's not because porn is a haven of non-mysoginists, it's because that's what the market will pay for, so that's where the money is.

Now, this might perturb reasonable middle class people that dominate this board but the scumbags only care about money. You either make them money and demand a big slice for yourself or bypass them and make your own money. That is the ultimate solution - that's if anybody wants what you are selling.

Porn is watched by a predominately male audience who ARE mysoginists, i.e., men who want to see women objectified and demeaned as sexual objects. Males are not there to see the males; they're there to see women, hence the disparate pay scales.

I don't think its as easy as saying they should negotiate better.
    Well said.

Whatever form of "they should negotiate better" is put out there, it is a bit dated or "1950's-ish" or "old fart-ish" to use other posters terminology to say the least.

Why would you assume that? The Forbes list includes residuals, endorsements and outside business interests. George Clooney was #1 last year at $239 million due primarily to owning 1/3 of a tequila company that sold for $700 million.

She way high on my list too.
What other drop-dead gorgeous leading lady would do a Mad Max character and Atomic Blonde?

I saw an interview of Mia Khalifa on BBC Hard Talk. She says she only made $12k for a dozen films. Is this credible?
