I feel so badly for China and India that they can't field decent teams with their paltry population bases. Perhaps they need an intern from Jamaica to show them how it's done.

If China decided to make soccer a priority, they would destroy us in the world cup every time.

They'd have to get in line behind the other 40 countries that could. And we have, as much as possible (with ONE GAZILLION kids playing soccer every fall), make soccer a priority. The really good little kids do tend to stick with it (bird in hand better than two in the bush) through HS, which is all you can ask for. It's way more than 'prioritizing' it; it has to be a way of life.

Meant the team sports....yes China has their moments in relatively minor sports like diving...they were once big in men's gymnastics...

With their autocratic ways they can do alot when they choose....

There already are soccer leagues in China and they still aren't very good...

But you mentioned table tennis??? - not a team sport by most definitions. (I know there is a team event at the Olympics but it was only put in to prevent China from winning more gold medals in doubles and mixed doubles)
