    Tokyo 2020 Heat Countermeasures
    #1
As described in the Mondo thread, the organizers of Doha 2019 seem to have a good air conditioning system in place to deal with oppressive desert heat.

I couldn't find another thread about it, but there are also significant heat concerns about Tokyo 2020 Olympics (Athletics 31Jul-09Aug).

Linked on the home pages is a story called "Tokyo roads to be paved with heat-shielding material to help reduce temperatures during Olympic marathon races."

And then there was this alarming report about a test event today, where organizers in Tokyo decided to shorten the run portion of a women's Triathlon from 10k to 5k due to dangerous heat conditions.

In Rome, his first win, they ran at night. I don't recall at what time the 1964 marathon was run; he wore shoes in Tokyo.
    Cheers,
