    Old School TFNews Forums safe?
    #1
Noticed this significant vulnerability to vBulletin boards, confirmed for V5 and up. Not clear if TFNews running V4.2.5 makes it safe.

Assuming relevant tech guys are on to it?

    Yikes.

That would allow hackers to commandeer web servers powering the forum software, steal data, tamper with information, launch assaults on other systems, and so on.

I'm using my backup internet with different IP to type this, cause I suppose my IP has been blocked as a casualty of your ineffective fight against spammers.

Happened already this month! Lasted for a few days.

if your IP address is banned, it's because somebody (not you, or your name would be banned also) posted spam from it. It happens.

I've been using VPN a lot lately. It might have something to do with that.
