I think we'll win the following # of medals in these events

    100/200 - 0
    400 - 1
    800 - 1
    1500 - 1
    ST - 1
    5k - 0
    10k - 0
    Mar - ?
    100H - 2
    400H - 2
    4x1 - 1
    4x4 - 1
    RW - 0
    HJ - 1
    LJ - 1
    TJ - 1
    PV - 1
    SP - 1
    DT - 0
    HT - 1
    JT - 0
    Hept - 0
    TOTAL - 16 medals(5 gold)

Sprints - somehow we'll sneak out a medal in the 400, but probably not the short sprints

Distances - Wilson maybe finally gets her gold. I'm thinking 1 medal in steeple, though it could be 2 of course. Houlihan gets a bronze. Not sure who's in the marathon.

Hurdles - 2 golds, 4 total medals - maybe more

Relays - Hard to imagine any golds (maybe 4x4), but at least a bronze and a silver?

Jumps - Morris and Reese are good bets, maybe Cunningham too. And how about Orji moving up a spot from Rio?

Throws - Price will get one, perhaps also Ealey.

These are all VERY off the top of my head, with little analysis. Would love to hear other opinions!

Project 30 is alive in well in your m/w pix. I'd love it, but find it . . . optimistic.
Typically there's a 'bump' in our expectations right after USATF.
Some of our prospects won't be able to hold their fitness (but perhaps others will step up?).

How many medals will the US women win? That's a million dollar question.

There's a lot of unpredictability; some of those medals won't happen, and some extra medals will happen, but the average could be in the right ballpark. Projecting a medal in the 400, and projecting both Cunningham and Orji to medal, seems optimistic though; I'd consider 1 total medal from those 3 events a good result for USA.

I could see Wimbley pulling through, or maybe Francis getting fit.

I highly doubt it. But the 2017 race was an interesting one.

SMU, Naser and Seyni have all run in the low 49s this year and are likely to go even faster.

Maybe I should say 1 medal between the 100/200/400 ... if we actually got shut out in those 3 events, I would be searching the record books. When was the last time that happened? It's hard to imagine zero sprint medals.

13 and they are very unlikely to get a sprint medal.
