Cole Sprout 14:38 in Denver at the Liberty Bell Invitational. Not sure how much of the meet is run on pavement (see photo), I would hope hardly any or else it's a road race, not cross country.

I think pavement is a significant portion of the course, which is described as "a combination of city streets and soft crushed gravel on the High Line Canal"

Still an impressive performance for Sprout at attitude.

I was just getting ready to post when I saw wamego's reply, but I'll go ahead. This article on milesplit --

    https://co.milesplit.com/articles/71...ountry-courses

describes Liberty Bell's course as: "A downhill course. A course composed entirely of asphalt and groomed, densely packed trail dirt."

So, in my value-less opinion, not really xc running. But that doesn't really matter here. Lots of runners have raced that course, and his time is the fastest ever, I think. Impressive running.
