    Back on topic, I didn't see the heat but Brown running 22.6 into that sort of headwind is an impressive run.

    I know athletes are required to compete and donít want to be injured but whatís the point in having rules so that someone can run that slow? If she wanted to take it easy thatís fine but she didnít need to run THAT slow surely. What a silly and strange rule.

    Usatf should just remove the 'show fitness' rule for the athletes who have byes. What's the point of flying them over to show the spectators their half-baked efforts. If they want to compete like Reese and Coburn, that's great. If they don't want to do so, I'm fine with it either.

    Carters has been running DL events and that should be enough to show fitness, if that is what they want.

    I suspect itís more for publicity purposes then fitness. Itís good to advertise X number of defending world champs at the meet and have them available to the media etc.

    Even if Christian Taylor barely stepped on the runway, his presence generated buzz.
