Properly marked. Do the cut-in points for the lanes describe an arc? That's the only way all the runners would run the same distance. If they are straight across, we're talking hypotenuse, right?

They are not straight across. They are staggered to take the distance to the point of tangency into account.

The difference is easy to see on tracks that have 200 start marks on both sides. For those tracks, look at the difference between the 800 start marks and the 200 start marks, there's a slight offset.

Ellis has to be top four. #2 at Trials; #2 on US list for 2019; 50.00 and 49.99 out of the blocks in 2017 and 2018. 23 years old.

Still time left in season. But with top American time for year currently at 50.20, highly unlikely four women will have a better case come decision time.

I say SM in a new WR, just to make the final showdown in Doha that much more exciting!

I can't believe that either one will be ready at this point of their Doha prep to go near DM's new record, but they should be ready to go 52.x. In the psychological game, DM is now the prey and SM the hunter, so DM should 'let' (ha!!) SM win to reverse that situation. I think SM will go 52-high and DM 53-low.
