As far as I know, there is no standard chasing. The end of the USATF champs is the deadline to get the standard.

So if he manages to get healthy and Lyles wins the DL, Bednarek may run in Doha as the 8th placer.

Everyone has "personality".. not everyone agrees on what is an endearing personality.

He ran the damnedest 200 I have ever seen. At the start he pulled up immediately, I guess thinking that there was a FS or a recall. Then he started sprinting and went by everyone in rapid succession, and then he shut it down so completely that he truly was jogging - not the Bolt jogging or anyone else. He could have run quite a bit better.

As for the event and the wind, it was very much worse than the wind readings indicate. The home stretch is moderately well protected, so a wind of -2.0 was much stronger elsewhere. More importantly the wind was coming at an angle of about 30-40 degrees from the left (looking up the straight to the runners). That meant that the wind speed was about -3 or more. And, that 200 curve is pretty open so the wind was undoubtedly stronger there than where the wind is measured. That meant that on a majority of the curve they were running in to a headwind that may well have been -4 to -5 mps, with virtually no tailwind at the beginning except maybe the first 10-15m, and then it was mostly a crosswind that does not help even if the vector in the direction of runners was about 1mps.

For the Final, the wind was not as much coming somewhat closer to the direction of the straights. I was judging this by a combination of the wind flag at the PV pit and the flags south of the finish line.

Anyone have the stat on the last time all top 3 finishers in a men's sprint event didn't have the WC/OG qualifier by the end of the meet? I just find it very strange for some reason in the sprints.

He's 21 and having a great time in his life...I've done crazier in my early 20's.
You sound in need of a good time as well.
