    Agreed! I think the announcer made such a big deal out of that while also thinking that as soon as he runs against anybody of significance, that streak is gone.

    I thought qualifying rounds didn't count in streaks. If Hoppel wins the final, is the streak back on?

    When is an 800m qualifying round win a net positive ?, Answer , almost never.

    Murphy burning a 145 in a semi, that is going to cost him in the final.

    Considering he only really ran the last 120 meters, I have my doubts about that.

    In a game of inches, even for Murphy, 120m can be the difference between winning and placing 3rd.
