Too bad we didn't see a lot of the last 2K. I'm still bugging them about split-screening the long race when showing field events. At one point, I got a response from somebody who said they were planning something like that for Doha, but I can't remember whether they were talking about split screen or a races-only feed, which they did provide in 2016 and 2017 global meets.

Agnes Tirop is getting better and better; she is now 6th performer, 12th performance all-time. She was actually closing on Obiri in the last 50.
Keep in mind that Almaz Ayana has four performances better than 14:20, but she may run only the 10, if she runs at all.
This is one event in which the Chinese times from '97 have been left far behind (14:28.09 Jiang Bo ), but that's because in '93 they weren't running the 5.
    Cheers,

SAFP now has 14 wind-legal sub-10.8s, which is the record. Marion Jones had 15 but only 13 are still in the books, the other two got annulled.

As an erst-while fan of hers, I have no problem with expunging them all.

IMO, Jones should have gotten the Lance Armstrong treatment and had her entire career wiped off the book.

The world feed was available for the first hour on Saturday, but either IMG didn't sell it to NBC (seems unlikely) or NBC didn't buy it. I would suggest all of us sending an email to support@nbcsportsgold.com noting that CBC.ca/sports had that webcast available, and that a VPN is cheaper than an NBC Gold subscription, so they'd better get with the program.

SAFP said she is doubling at the world championships. Which means Elaine is likely doubling too.

That would not have been possible under the applicable rules.

DAS also confirmed this was her plan for Doha.

Michael Johnson also said on the BBC that SMU was looking for a time change in the schedule where a 200/400 round are too close. He seemed more confident it could happen as it was time and not day.
