Addicts seem to have different brains from non addicts. This is before any addictive substances are taken. During the Vietnam war many soldiers were taking addictive substances. There was a big fear that upon return the number of addicts would go through he roof. It didn't. There were addiction issues to be sure but probably mostly among those with brains more susceptible to addiction. Now if we could come up with a test for addictable people we could reduce the prescription of addicitive substances to those most vulnerable.
But with Fentanyl now being manufactured and sold illegally in large quantities the issue of Big Pharma and M.D.'s responsibility has been removed.

But the Sacklers get to keep their billions, and have already morphed into another company. See the story on India.

But we know this in pretty well and can usually resist it.
just think of how adept these addicts are that they could learn and make themselves familiar with a phenomenon of being "allergic" to a medicine. The addict becomes like a chameleon, adapting to his environment to achieve his necessary end.

By the way the first experience i had with "allergic" issue in pain killers was when my mother recently went in for hip surgery. So they giver her percocet and she breaks out in a rash all over her body. Stopped that and the rash cleared. Never understood that. .. Her hip replacement all happened through an incision less than 2.5 inches. Thank you MDs!
