worth the read/watch (not sure I thought I'd ever say that about a college football coach)

Ha! There's a guy that a had to rant to rant and a ready-made audience to rant to.
Not that I don't agree with him. It's definitely a generation gap thing. All my grandkids are the same way.

Yes, very interesting. Certainly relevant to millennials' attendance at track meets.

He's spot-on. It's partly why I stick to my flip-phone. I hate seeing people out, with their heads down.
You there, on the motorbike! Sell me one of your melons!

I found this a gross over simplification. I find my phone indispesencible for following field events at meets.

I think I have the steps in this trajectory:

    1. NCAA football attendance is declining.
    2. The world is soon to end.
    3. The cause of 1 & 2? Cell phones.

Eventually someone will be right about #2. But I am unpersuaded by the evidence, the chain of reasoning, and the conclusions.

As for 'kids these days', being around them every day, they are interacting with each other pretty much constantly. But apparently they aren't watching football. That's too bad, at least for football programs.

But how many meets support that, and support it well? I've had mixed experiences.

I am bit of a Luddite. Only owned a smart phone for about five years. In that timeframe the major meets I have attended are NCAA indoor/outdoor, Pan Am (Toronto) and USATF, so those have been generally good on real time field event results. Clearly it's not universal.
