In 2017 51.4 made the final and this field doesn't look any stronger than that, if that.

Agreed. Tough transition for the event from Felix, SRR, Hastings, Trotter, McCorory. Francis should be a finalist in Doha but she'll need another kiss of fortune to medal. There is always the chance for surprise but the best 400 meter runner in the US does it while she clears hurdles.

More likely a medal in the wHammer than the 400, possibly other sprints, too.

I would not be surprised at all is there are no U.S. runners in w400m final and no medalists in 100 or 200.

We are a long way from Doha but a medal in the 200 might be shocking. The 100 looks like an outside chance as Hobbs (if she makes the team) could be in the running; Bowie hasn't needed to run fast and Richardson could have a second or third peak but this is not a year for the sprints.

I thought Richardson was not running USATF

I see Bowie in the 200m, she is way down on the chart but beside her name says "accepted" and "declared." Perhaps I am not clear on what exactly that means but I thought it to be that her 2018 time of 22.75 was accepted and she's declared herself in the field. Yes? No?

Or is there more recent news that she has withdrawn/decided not to compete?

Entered and accepted. Not sure if there is news beyond that.

Bowie's 22.75 was outside the qualifying window (21Apr18), but since she was a bronze medalist in 2016 in the event, she is a Rule 8 qualifier. Her seed time will be NT.

Down to 11 and its two days before the meet starts and no official update to the schedule.
