I see 10 of the 36 are from Liberty Univ, where the Head Coach is from.

Last time most of the team was from University of Houston IIRC.

USATF does not send a team, which has always been a real let down to Team USA, and is now even moreso given the new rankings system.

It really is. Especially with the new rankings system having more bearing on athletes' careers.

USATF failing to send teams to NACAC U18 and Universiade are depriving our up and coming athletes of valuable opportunities that they cannot replicate on their own.

And honestly, I'm concerned the real reason has to do with money.

Not that logic applies to USATF necessarily, but what other semi logical reason other than money could there possibly be?

note that the USOC used to be in charge of funding WUG teams, but that in early '03 (think they were in turmoil) they relinquished the role and handed off to USATF, which I don't think ever had the money to properly fund full-sized teams.

As I recall (correct me if I'm wrong) there were several editions where there was no U.S. representation (in track). Then I thought they switched to sending one-school, like previously mentioned Houston. And I wanna say it was UCLA the iteration before that.

I have no idea how they chose this year's team. Or who's funding it. Note that the link at top goes to teamusa.org which doesn't seem to hve anything to do with USATF
