Pakistan won the toss and batting first...but needing to win by 316 they aren't even going to get that...

Update....on BBC website.... it's not over!

So there has been a lot of confusion around the maths with this but we are told if Pakistan keep Bangladesh to seven or below then they will overtake New Zealand on net run-rate and qualify for the semi-finals.

    There's still a chance.

Crushing upset in the first semifinal. New Zealand knocked off India, a team considered by many as the favorites to win the whole shebang.

This commentary explained the final play:

Another slower one around off, Chahal goes for the heave across the line but the ball goes off the top edge towards the keeper who takes it by diving forward. An appeal and the umpire raises the finger. Chahal reviews and Ultra Edge shows that there is a spike.
The only thing I understood was the umpire giving the finger.

I spent two years in SA, and while I enjoyed the action, I am completely lost regarding the rules. I think they have rules for the rules, and so on ...

And as David slew Goliath, my many Indian immigration clients rapidly did a Superman telephone box impersonation after entering with their Indian blue and emerging in Kiwi Black.
