Anyways NZ has 4 years to win it .....If England had lost at home chasing 240 it would have been pretty devastating.....

It now turns out, although too late to anything about it, that England were erroneously award 6 runs on that 3rd to last ball when the ball hit Stokes bat and rolled out to the boundary.

The rules say that the batsman will only be granted those runs made before the fielder has thrown the ball. The umpires should only have granted the batsman 1 run instead of 2 runs, thus making a total of 5.

This is as was reported by the games reputed best umpire.

Also instead of Stokes facing the last 2 balls it would have been Englandís worst batsman.

But thatís how the dice rolls sometimes.

Note that Stokes knew he had to score just 1 run with the last ball to tie the game . If he'd had to score 2 his approach to that ball would have been different - he would have aimed for a boundary - he might not have got it but it's now a mute point.
Not much doubt that Williamson was the smartest captain on view.

And to think I had thought that the chance of this miraculous victory had gone and focused on watching the British Trials. Those weren't bad in places but won't still be being shown years down the line like this probably will.

73 is more than the whole team scored in the first innings.

It's right up there with Ian Botham in 1981...it was great to watch live....it didn't seem possible.... it's like being down 20-0 in the bottom of the ninth in the World Series....with 2 outs and winning the game...

An amazing and successful chase. That kiwi Ben Stokes did it again.

And I was truly humbled that England decided to honour me in their first innings by scoring exactly 1 run for each year I have been on this planet, and then amazed that they were able to chase down the required 359 in the second innings.
