I love climbing, but don't climb anymore and, yawn, am not really keen to see it as an Olympic sport. But here is how it's gonna work:

Although I appreciate the athleticism of many off-brand "sports", I am opposed to any competition that is scored subjectively being in the Olympics..
They can lump them all into something not called the Olympics.

    Agreed totally!

Of course, Id also get rid of gymnastics, diving, figure skating, and whatever they call synchronized swimming these days.

How about boxing and wrestling? They are among the oldest Olympic sports, but sometimes the refereeing can be as subjective as they go...

I wonder if there's been any push to add mixed martial arts, and all the brutality that goes with that, to the Olympics?

I think MMA has too much blood for the aesthetic liking of IOC; well just look at what's happening to Olympic boxing, they introduced a new protocol in the latest added appendix of the AIBA rule book, that a 3m polymer skin care product should be applied multiple times on certain places on the boxers' faces before the bout, in order to prevent cuts. No idea if that'll work for MMA...
