Does anyone have an estimate as to what the women's decathlon world record would be if someone like JJK or Kluft did it?

Obviously the wildcard is the PV, which neither of them have an existing mark from which you can extrapolate from.

JJK enough points in 9 events to set the AR without even vaulting?

No reason this shouldn't become a thing but women who can vault have a decided advantage, at the moment, over women who'd have to learn. I look forward to an OG and WC women's decathalon.

Let's not forget that Stacy Dragila did a few heptathlons early in her career. Had a PR of 5488A in 1998. At the time, she was the US indoor and outdoor pole vault champion (and world indoor champion as well).

I think she's even completed a decathlon at some point.

I sense that some of you are feeling the urge to engage with some women's decathlon statistics. We have you covered: https://womensdecathlonassociation.com/statistics (have not updated everything after yesterday yet)

Dragila hopped in a men's decathlon in 1997 and achieved a score of 6999 (using today's tables).

Depends largely on their other events. A halfway decent heptathlete who can barely pole vault will destroy a pole vaulter who has limited experience in other events. I would not at all consider it a "decided advantage" to be able to pole vault. It is one of ten events.

Two heptathletes of similar ability, one with no PV experience and one who is a halfway decent vaulter... yes obviously then the hep who can pole vault has an advantage.

Current pole vault table needs adjusting. We, the Women's Decathlon Association, will be pushing for a new decathlon combined events formula for the pole vault and the creation of a combined events formula for the women's indoor 1000 meter run, so that we can move forward in contesting the indoor heptathlon.
