Even though she hasn't been representing her school Williams also takes down Hill's national HS Record.

    1. No one is taking credit away from her. Putting it all in perspective, that's all. She did awesome, 10.75 puts her in elite company.

    2. The initial discussion was about SAFP's prospects at Prefontaine, not the WC. Either way, if you want to talk WC, I do believe SAFP and ET are the favorites, over any of the Americans including Richardson. But as we said, tons of time between now and Doha, anything can happen including injuries.

Amazing how you ignore Thompson...SAFP didn't win tonight.
I think she can go faster, because she's young. I doubt her throwing her hands up the last two and a half strides at the end was going to take another 100th off of her time.

I think that this is a flawed conclusion. Just doing a lean is worth at least 0.02, and the arms in the air raise her center of gravity even if it did not slow her directly (notice that the leans have the arms down as well as back, lowering the center of gravity and converting potential energy in to kinetic energy; in SR's case raising the arms lowers the kinetic energy to provide the potential energy. My WAG is 0.03, and that is possibly conservative). Aside from so many races, the conditions were excellent for sprints at times in the NCAA meet.

the hands-up in and of itself may not have cost her much/anything, but her lack of leanage certainly cost a thousandth or two.

Indeed, all the hand-wringing over an 'undriving' finish is silly; the deceleration is already on, and her finish didn't add much to it.

Dacres threw a measly 63.49m (measly for him) to place 2nd behind Smikle's 64.50.

ET is so damn fierce...she reminds me of Gwen Torrence...
I don't think she likes her competitors, even her countrywomen lol.
