Happy birthday today (Tuesday) to an Olympic champion who was born on a Tuesday 107 years ago, but died about 45 years ago at the age of 61.

Our birthday athlete set a world record in winning that Olympic gold medal.

This person was the second of seven children and competed in only Olympic Games.

For some of you, "Hold That Coed" might be a big clue.

It's true that this individual fought and was injured in World War II.

Name our birthday champion for this penultimate Tuesday of June.

"This person was the second of seven children and competed in only Olympic Games."

I suppose this is not literally true

Born in 1912 and winner of the decathlon in 1936
at Berlin, I think it must be Glenn Morris.

Very well done, jmdjmd. Glenn Morris was born 107 years ago yesterday. Morris started out as a 400 meter hurdler, but learned to pole vault and soon moved to the decathlon. He broke the world record in Berlin and led a one-two-three U.S. sweep of the 1936 Olympic decathlon medals.
