An Adidas street-event promotion and you want DQ's enforced?
What was the prize money on the line for the 150m Dash?
    Is Lyles sponsored by Adidas?
Was the starter an employee of Adidas in his day job?

Correct call to let him perform for the crowd. But no dance was the right thing also, given the False Start and all.

Shame they don't liven things up a bit for these road sprints...4 or 5 sprinters each going separately...clock starts when they leave.... all so serious... worrying about false starts...who cares... it wouldn't hurt to make it like pro wrestling sometimes...something people actually watch....

Stagger the starting point for the 100 based on Season bests Times to try for a five-way
Dead heat. That would bring in the viewers.

And pro wrestling seems to have a lot more air time and bigger crowds.

Agree with this 100%. People need to relax.

Wrong thing to say when they have you dead to rights:

"What did the guy at the start say? Green card. Then it was a green card," Lyles said after officials told NBC Sports there was no conclusive evidence that the star of the meeting had false started.
The replay DID clearly show he jumped.
Just own up to it, smile, shrug your shoulders, and thank the officials, Noah.

Did you watch him when he said that?

Do you know what that means? A negative time means he moved BEFORE the gun went off. If you look at the graphic they sometimes show, you will see bars going toward the right, indicating movement AFTER the gun, and sometimes one going to the left, indicating movement BEFORE the gun.
If that was actually his reaction time on the system, then of course he should have been DQ'd, as a runner WAS DQ'd in one of the heats of the M 100.
The whole meet is a joke, anyway.
    Cheers,

How many people saw him say it vs. how many people will read what he said. If you're going to say something to the media, know your audience.

It's not really a joke, they were all competing seriously, but you're right in that it doesn't count for anything. It's like the NFL or NBA All-Star Games; they're all competing, and pride is on the line, but they all know it doesn't mean anything. MLB was on the right track when they made their All-Star game mean something.
