Lyels's False Start at Adadias Boston Boost Games
    #1
Whoever thought that they were doing Track and Field in this county a favor by giving Noah Lyels a green card after his flagrant false start in the 150 at the Adadias Boston Boost Games better think again. To be respected, track and field must maintain the utmost integrity, which means that the rules must be applied fairly to all. There can be no bending of the rules for favored athletes. USATF should discipline the officials who allowed this travesty to occur in front of a National audience. Otherwise, track is reduced to the same level as professional wrestling. ;-(

    Who gives a Flying F.
It's not a real meet anyway - it's just for fun.
That meet, on a Bostron street, did more to promote the sport than if he had run a 19.50 200 on a real track!

Interesting take. I knew, the sooner he tripped up on the gun, that they were not going to toss him. Now, if he had taken a big step, even before the official had the chance to fire the gun, either the guy with the gun would claim a malfunction (e.g., the gun jammed; and I would bet good horse money on that), or they would have had no choice but to toss him...

...But then again, this is a 150, hardly run on any track today, whether around a turn or on one with a 200m/220y straightaway.

If anyone else had false-started in any race beforehand, and that person got tossed, they would have had to do the same to him.

It's on a raised board track in a street.
If I'm the Starter, here's my statement to Lyles, "You must have heard the same noise I did just before the gun, which made you jump, right?

In a REAL race, of course, he's outta there!

Agreed. Paying spectators want to see the top athletes run.
