El Toro nails it. As a corollary redesigning a logo provides another line item for the looting of the organization.

The new logo does look a bit like someone in a pair of lycra shorts bending over.

The worst thing about a new logo and name means they will probably redo the website in a few months and make it even less functional.

Reminds me of the movie Seven Days in May...the story in the film starts on a Monday...with the Preakness, part of the plot, normally on a Saturday....Frankenheimer half way through filming realized it was only Six Days in May...Oh dear!...A friend came up with a solution of having posters in the movie advertising The First Sunday Running of the Preakness...

They also have the problem that the state of Washington does not want to give up the domain name WA.org.

Instead they are considering World Track & Field, and checking whether WTF.org is available.

The State of Washington also owns WA.com, so that could be a problem for World Athletics if they wanted to use the initials.

Obviously, nobody is seriously going to use wtf as a website, but if you try wtf.org, you're directed to the site of World Taekwando, which wisely does not use Federation in its name.
