Is there intention behind putting teammates in the same heat and in adjacent lanes (USC heat 1, A&T heat 2, Kentucky heat 3)?

    Serpentining.

Daniels & Richardson were the fastest quarterfinal winners, Terry 3rd, Seymour 4th, Whyte 5th, Thomas 6th.

Runners-up in time order: White, Grant, Annelus, Smith, Duncan, Clark

    Sooooo...

Heat A: Richardson, Thomas, White, Clark

Heat B: Daniels, Whyte, Grant, Duncan

Heat C: Terry, Seymour, Annelus, Smith

At Texas, the preferred lanes for the 100 are 6-5-7-4-8-3-9-2

    Soooooo....

    Heat A: Richardson-6, Thomas-5, White-7, Clark-4

    Heat B: Daniels-6, Whyte-5, Grant-7, Duncan-4

    Heat C: Terry-6, Seymour-5, Annelus-7, Smith-4

    Heat order is random

    Make sense now?

So, what appeared to be intentional was a coincidence. Yes, that was my question.
