The Colorado State Meet is today, tomorrow, and Saturday. The meet that keeps on giving, 10 state meets--boys and girls 1A through 5A--all under one roof (well, it's outdoors, but you get it). MileSplit CO will stream it (first time, I think.)

Only a few highlights to watch for:

Junior Cole Sprout is qualified in the 5A 800, 1600, and 3200. He's the cream of the crop in the 1600 and 3200, but only 3rd fastest in the 800 (1:53.87, leader is 1:53.49). Will he triple? The 3200 is at 10:30am Friday and the 800 at 1:05pm, with the 1600 Saturday afternoon. Or will he double and try to take down the CO state meet records of 9:05.89 (Brent Vaughn 2003) and 4:10.98 (Rich Martinez 1981)?

Senior Arria Minor (Georgia-bound) tries to become a four-time winner of the 100 and 200. She also won the 400 as a frosh and sophomore, 2nd as a junior. She's skipping the 400 this year (hasn't run it even once outdoors) and is aiming for the 100 state record. She already holds the 200 and 400 state records. No doubt will do 4x100 relay duty as well, as she has done previously.

Senior heptathlete Anna Hall (also Georgia-bound) looks to be competing only in the 100H and 300H. She quadrupled the last two years (won both hurdle events both years, with 400 (4th) and HJ (2nd) in 2017 and 200 (2nd) and LJ (1st) in 2018. After her final event in 2017, the 400, she collapsed and required IV fluids in the ER. Going easy this year with an eye toward post-HS season heptathlons?

Senior vaulter Max Manson (17-4 this spring) is aiming to take down father Pat Manson's Colorado HS record 17-7 (1986). Max already holds the State Meet record at 17-3.5 and apparently had at least one good attempt at 17-8 last weekend. (Has Mondo ruined the HS vault, where even 17-high might seem pedestrian??)

Don't pretty much 90% or more of the states have similar set ups?

California the only "major player" that has a single-class setup?

You could argue that several of the states that have a meet of champions that follows some type of class championships are similar. New Jersey, Mass, CT, etc.
Also, Indiana has a single state meet.
(not sure where your cutoff is for "major player")

Florida has four for T&F - most of our other sports have 6 to 8!
