    RIP Tim Conway

One of the funniest guys ever.

Tim Conway Dead: Carol Burnett Show Star Dies at 85

"The beloved actor is best known for his work on The Carol Burnett Show, winning viewers over with characters like the Oldest Man and Mr. Tudball, whose accent he has said was inspired by his Romanian mother. He was known to ad-lib his sketches — even surprising his scene partners — and won a Golden Globe Award for the series in 1976, along with Emmys in 1973, 1977 and 1978."

“Tim’s goal in life was to destroy [costar] Harvey Korman,” she told the crowd, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Harvey wet his pants,” Conway bragged.

It’s an anecdote he also recalled in a 2013 interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“Harvey never saw what I was going to do until he was actually doing the sketch,” he said. “As a matter of fact in the dentist sketch you can actually see Harvey wet his pants from laughing.”

We would be remiss not to mention his role in the 1973 Disney comedy movie The World’s Greatest Athlete. John Amos is a college head coach and Conway is his bumbling assistant. They “recruit” a Tarzan-like character from Africa to the college to become a decathlete and compete in the NCAA meet.

He was in a bunch of other mildly amusing comedies in the 1970s, often with Don Knotts.

    May he Rest In Peace.

Probably up there with Chaplin and Kaye for physical comedian GOAT. Whenever I walk in public I mumble: "Do not do the Conway old fart shuffle."

Didn't ever see McHale's Navy that I recall, so I will remember his excellent Carol Burnett work. And Dorf on Golf, of course!
