Assuming he could round out to be either a top 5 dasher vs a top 5 decathlete, which path leads to more fame and prize money over a longer career?

From my own opinion on here I don't think he can be a top 5 dasher but if he could, given the dasher competition in America, I would have to say he would do better as a top 5 decathlete money wise but fame wise better as a dasher because - well I can't say - it's taboo.

That was my thought. Just seems that Bolt or King Carl are the exception to the rule, that the 100m doesnt have the media drawing power of the Decathlon. His HJ/LJ/100/400 are already at elite deca levels. The 1500 is probably likewise already there, his brother is a PVer so one can image that he could get his PV respectable within 3 years.

That leaves 3 throw events, but that is no small mountain to climb.. and there lies the rub.

But is not that the rub with all the speed/jump decathletes? Given his natural abilities I would think he could put up decent numbers given his 6 foot frame.

    You're overlooking one crucial event.

historically speaking, I'd say that's not remotely true

I think he would be good at that as well given his speed - other decathletes with this speed seem to have done excellent.

Which pantheon is greater, that of the decathlon or that of 100m champions.

I don't know, if the 100 is greater it is mostly because the event is contested more often . The OG 100m is big but is it bigger than the Deca? Names like Eaton, Jenner, Toomey are as big as Lewis, Greene, and Gatlin.
