the top 2 seeds have been eliminated in the first round. First time ever. And the No. 3 seed is trailing 3-2

my kind of tournament (even though my faves, the No. 6 seed, are doomed)

My all time Stanley Cup Playoffs favorite upset was in the spring
of 1971 when the Montreal Canadiens eliminated the Boston Bruins 4 games to 3.

Bobby Orr, and Phil Esposito still having nightmares about Ken Dryden!

That was the unique year where Dryden (who had originallly been drafted by Boston!) won the Conn Smythe trophy as the MVP of the playoffs and then the next year won rookie of the year (because his first year didn't begin until late March and he didn't play enough games)

Yes indeed he had played only six games during the regular season.

His first game ever was on 14 March 1971 in Pittsburgh Montreal winning 5-1.

I believe the Canadiens would have won more Stanley Cups had he not
taken the 1973-74 season off because of a contractual dispute and taking
that year for finishing his law degree.

The Philadelphia Broad Street Bullies took advantage of that!

Tonight all of Ontario and much of Canada watches. I heard a gambling show last week say that bookmakers give no advantage to the home team in NHL playoffs. Certainly sleeping at home counts for something and the noise level must affect the refs somehow?
    Lines-makers say no.

TML's have lost 4-5 straight 7th games. They are +4 at even strength in the series. Boston sounds confident but convinced they will win? No. It's too close.

I don't know how you hockey fans do it. Watching 10 UNC basketball games over 30 days from the second UNC-Duke game (regular season finale but uber-important) to the NCAA final, in the years they get that far, is hard enough.
