Kendall Gustafson joined the 6K club at the Bryan Clay meet with a 6078 score, just behind Canada's Georgia Ellenwood (6135 for the former Badger). UCSB's Hope Bender also added 200 points to her PR with 5940 in third.

At the Bryan Clay meet in the men’s decathlon, USC Frosh Ayden Owens (12th in the World Juniors last year for Puerto Rico) was ahead of Harrison Williams by 134 points after 7 events with 5,981 points.

The last three events are not his best, but adding in his Tampere PV/JT/1500 marks gets him to 7,821. Using his vault mark from the NCAA indoor hept (where he placed 6th) would be worth 76 points more than his WJr vault.

So, in what may be his first senior decathlon, Owens could end up close to 7,900 points. Owens is still a junior; he turns 19 in 40 days.

At Mt SAC, Brooke Andersen wins the women's hammer throw with a personal best 75.05/246-3.

The men's hammer was won by Marcel Lomnicky (77.15/253-1) but behind him was Georgia's Denzel Comenentia, breaking his own Dutch National Record with 76.80/252-0

Williams takes over the lead from Owens after the PV, 6788 to 6771.

Owens was born and raised in Pittsburgh, but since he competed for Puerto Rico at WJr I believe he would not be eligible to break the US Junior record for the Sr Dec (currently held by Gunnar Nixon at 7892). Is that right?

He certainly has a shot at 7,900.

After the Javelin, in which Owens had another PR (apparently by almost 25 feet), Owens leads Harrison by 10, 7,378 to 7,368.

He has a shot at 8,000 points which would put him at #8 a-t WJr (just ahead of Kevin Mayer!)

    8130 for Owens! #3 A-T world U20 score, I believe.

8112 for Williams, and also 8066 for Ehrhardt, PRs for both.

Thanks, I was so focused on ending the name correctly (with an 'e') that I botched the first part of the name.
