I'm still salty that the IAAF added the co-ed 4x400 INSTEAD of the women's 50k RW.

Now you've done it. Lord Coe will likely see this, and it will possibly now be a late inclusion at Tokyo

A run/swim/bike relay would be far more fascinating.

    "Land/Water mixed"

Team (mixed) Triathlon or Biathlon is a good concept IMO.

I'm wondering about the most practical way of doing an event where, for example, one person swims 100m followed by a 400m run and a bike leg of either 800 or 1000m.

The 400 and bike leg are easy to do on a standard 400m track.

The 100m using a swimming stroke (preferably butterfly) on the same track will be better than any Japanese TV torture show, hence the superior viewing and money-making potential compare to current IAAF. [not really joking]

I'm not sure whether it is feasible for a cyclist to try and take a turn at about 60kph (37 mph) without banking. Although it will be less tight than on a 250m velodrome.

An endurance version of the same race would be much easier to do. Although there might be concerns that weaker cyclists could be overly assisted by drafting dependent on how it is arranged.
