The obligatory "flame out" posts are nearly as tiresome of post about "pale" sprinters.

I agree. T&F has an incredibly fine filter for talent out of any graduation class at the NCAA level, at most one or two athletes make it at the pro level per event.

That filter tells us that only a very few make it for whatever reason including talent, injury, Burnout etc. plus the pay isn’t particularly good.
