The announcer in the videos said that this was Boling's final HS performance. So if he runs later this year can he still get be on the HS lists if he improves his HS performances in 100, 200, 400, and LJ?

For those that might not be aware, the political situation on Cyprus is quite complicated.

The entire island was controlled by the UK from the late 1800s until granted independence in 1960. This is why Cypriot's are able to compete at the CWG.

As part of the independence agreement, the Republic of Cypress was established to cover the entire island, except the UK retained several areas on the island for use as military bases.

The UK is sovereign in these areas, unlike a famous USA base on Cuba which is theoretically leased, albeit from a very unhappy landlord.

Because of Cypress's location, there were both ethnic Greek and Turkish populations on the island, and, of course, both countries thought the island should form part of their nation.

This elevated tensions between the ethnic communities post independence and Greece's interference in Cypriot affairs resulted in a Turkish invasion in the 1970s and the establishment of an independent Turkish state in the North of the island.

However, all countries, except Turkey, continue to recognise the Republic of Cypress's sovereignty over the island and nobody recognises the Turkish state, except Turkey.

So a "Cypriot" might identify as:
    • a Greek in Cyprus(which is rightly part of Greece)
    • a Turk in Cypress(which is rightly part of Turkey)
    • a Greek-Cypriot of the Republic
    • a Turkish-Cypriot of the Republic
    • a Turkish-Cypriot of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
    • a Cypriot islander (first and last)
    • a UK citizen.

    Is that clear?

He can get on Track & Field News' lists, which recognize performances occurring in the summer after the school year. NFHS does not.

What's the reasoning behind not recognizing performances that occur in the summer?

I'm all for it, but the HS 'season' does end with the State Championships (and NCAA Championships).
They are often competing for clubs after that.

Not from Texas but when I was growing up in Missouri and competing in H.S. I remember a pretty good Texas sprinter by the name of Bobby Morrow.
I dunno what are the similarities between Boling & Morrow in his prime ?
    They both look to be about 6' - 6'2" & 150 - 160 lbs.

You'd have to ask the National Federation of High Schools. But I suspect it's just that they don't want to mess with certifying performances at meets that they do not control, philosophically they think "high school" should mean the athlete is actually representing their high school in the competition, and that the performance is not aided by having non-high schoolers in the field.

Well that's the only list that really matters anyway -

Not sure if this is correct but Wiki says:

"Track and Field News (T&FN) has tracked records by any American high school students, in any competition until they enter college. These records include marks made in open competition against higher-level competitors, post-season meets and international competition up until August 31 following their high-school graduation."

The Wiki page is confusing with it's color coded marks. It has Boling's 10.13 as not being eligible for both T&FN or NFHS yet it has Kalon Barnes' 10.04 (+3.2m/s) as the record but not Boling's 9.98 +4.2m/s wind aided mark.

What are their rules with the wind and why is Boling not eligible?
