What about the "I am not a witch...." ad from a few cycles back? If you have to make that statement, you are dealing with some serious PR issues...

I vote for one of the best.

Years ago my dad had finished the paper, then starting complaining about this ad (I think it was for The Broadway) that had a very small message, surrounded by white space that comprised over 95% of a full page. He couldn't believe how much space they wasted. I asked him if he remembered any other ad from the paper. He couldn't. I suggested that it was money well spent.

Off the top of my head, there are few attention-getting slogans from state government agencies. "Don't Mess With Texas" and "Virginia is for Lovers" come to mind, but there aren't many.

This campaign by South Dakota has generated an amazing amount of buzz, which was clearly the objective.

I think it's brilliant. What better way to shine a light on a problem than to create buzz?
The anti-drug motto of the 80s: "Just Say No" was totally impotent.

We'll see...but still not sure what they are trying to accomplish...Since the pictures look like normal people....advertising to the country the whole state is on meth....lovely..."Hey, Honey....let's move to South Dakota where everyone is on meth!"

Reminds me of Invasion of the Body Snatchers where everyone looks normal but they are not..

South Dakota is about the size of Portland and I couldn't imagine that city doing such a thing.

I suspect he state's Chamber of Commerce is not happy with this...most Americans know little about SD but now they know it's the Meth Capital of America...

because it doesn't need to, already having reached critical mass in the meth department? As I may have posted after the World Indoor in '16, there were more bull-goose loonies wandering the streets of Portland than even San Francisco

I have never met a person on "meth".. I read that "down-the-street" from me people are dying by the dozens every year but I never meet anyone that is on this stuff. It is a tale of two cities.

Friends, someday 100 years from now, if our culture has 1/10th the depth and strength as it did 60 years ago someone with the talent of a Foster Brooks will imitate a South Dakota "meth" addict!!!
