In the interview after the German NCs she was talking about the 3k. They probably selected her for the 1500 because there was a slot left and it gives her the option to change her mind.

14:26.76 in a solo race by Klosterhalfen!!! That's a NR by over 15 seconds.

But I guess at this point Storl doesn't make the WC team. I know he has the standard from indoors, but that's not enough by the criteria of the German federation.

He said in an interview today, that he is still suffering from problems with his back. He can do unspecific training but as soon as he works with the shot his back acts up. He also said, it doesn't make sense for him to start in Doha if he isn't competitive and competitive this season means you have to be able to get over 22m

He's only thrown over 22 once in his entire career, and that was 4 years ago. I fear his days as the last medal-winning glider in mSP are over. I know he isn't that old yet, but after so many years at top level, it's hard to picture him taking it to the next level now.

He should have tried to transition to the spin a few years ago. He was a capable discus thrower as a U20 and I think he could have made the switch, but now it is probably too late.

But how many putters have ever made a successful switch in their mid-20s? The one example I know of is Helmut Krieger (Polish, despite the name), who was around 26 when he turned to gliding, and ended up with a 21.30 PB. Internationally, his biggest claim to fame was probably winning the Grand Prix final in 1988.
