Germany still start as favorites, but a highly motivated Polish team could challenge them.

With all of the talented 400 runners in Poland any chance someone like Wyciszkiewicz moves to 400 hurdles or 800? Looking at the young girls coming up there is a fair bit of talent there as well.

Ever since Wyciszkiewicz emerged as a junior, there's been talk of her moving to the 800 in the future. I guess she could do pretty well there, but with the success of the Polish women's 4x4, she probably figures she's better off sticking with the 400 and winning relay medals. And she's a great relay runner, too. She ran a couple of excellent legs at this year's World Relays, but she still hasn't run a proper individual 400 this season, only a 54 in early June in what was really just an exhibition race. We'll see what happens at the NC. Judging by today's race, she's back in pretty good shape and could make the WC race in the individual 400.

    Hi Powell,

I am looking for entry/start lists for the Wiesław Maniak Memorial meeting in Szczecin this Thursday but I can't even see the meeting listed on domtel-sport.pl. Can you help me out, please? TIA.

I was looking for them as well, but no luck. All I found was a few names of Polish stars who'll be participating.
