Does the NFL ever make headlines for something that's not negative.

The ironic thing is until maybe 10 years ago (maybe less than that), the NFL was considered the professional sport in the US which was always out in front of any potential problems.

These days the league can't get out of its own way or so it seems.

Part of it football is still by far the most popular sport and so people pay attention.....

An error like this in baseball would hardly get much attention.

An as for it all being negative.... the huge viewing figures for the Super Bowl is still something... hardly anyone watches the World Series these days.

The sport was at least as popular 10 years ago when things such as this seemed to be gotten out ahead of. Simplifying it to a mere "it's because people are paying attention" doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

NFL, MLB and NBA have different trigger points.

PED positive gets no attention in the NFL. It's a major deal in MLB
DV in NFL gets a lot of attention. Not so much in MLB
NBA probably has the smoothest run league right now and seems to more surrounded by social media debates than anything else.

That reminds me that Mrs. tandfman and I have to figure out where we want to have dinner that night--we know we can get into restaurants that are usually difficult or impossible to get into, and we love to take advantage of that.

For years, I used to use Super Bowl afternoon to drive up to wine country and have the place to myself.

    Meanwhile....

BREAKING: Attorney Frank D'Amico says he has filed a civil suit in New Orleans on behalf of Saints season ticket holders to make the right call and bring both teams back to replay the end of the game.

The ski slopes are pretty empty those Sundays that the Broncos play in the Super Bowl.
