As far as I can tell that should be 9am PT both days.

I think that's right. We saw that last week as well. Sports Gold sometimes doesn't list actual times until the day before the event.

It says 8:00 am EDT, but I'm sure that will change before the actual event.

It will have to, since the meet doesn't start until 9:00 PDT either day.

I am unwilling to cover this event, due to their choice to limit the pole vaulter to 8 attempts total, and I am furious that USATF billed this as a "tuneup to worlds" and then allowed EA to add all these silly rules that make it very much NOT a good tuneup for worlds.

I will not participate in this destruction of the pole vault.

I have said over and over that if the IAAF is serious about speeding up the pole vault in international championships, they would ban those automatic standards that always break.

Alas, that is the sacred cow that cannot be touched.

Mondo's 6.05m last year was on his 9th attempt.

Under these rules, Morgunov would have had the opportunity to jump at 6.05 once and Mondo not at all, and then they would have had to just tie for first at 6 meters. Once of the greatest moments in European Athletics would have never happened under the very rules that European Athletics is trying to force down everyone else's throat.

Agreed. This makes no sense at all.
