a tweet by Jesse Squire this morning

<<As far as I can tell, the penalties levied against the Oregon women’s track team are: *loss of points scored by the ineligible athlete at the 2016 Pac 12 championship, which will not affect team order of finish, and *a finger wag and being told “don’t do that”>>

The statement of the infraction is obviously lacking key material facts which were likely easily determined by the NCAA investigators. One of those facts is that there was no way that the instructor did any of this without direction from above.

<<Only comments imma make about this situation is 1. I graduated from the UO. 2. This is stuff from 2 years ago. 3. I don’t care about the article itself but plastering my picture, disclosing my name (but not the professors), and grade without my consent def threw me off .>>

I don't know who revealed what but it's possible that there is a Ferfa violation here if it were to be pursued which, if I were she or her parents, I would.

    In the RG today...

Austin Meek: NCAA again eager to punish for meager crimes

In hindsight, Oregon has to wonder about the incentive to self-report violations. Oregon handed the NCAA a thorough investigation and, as a reward, got penalties far stiffer than schools that cover up far more egregious infractions.

The athlete would be definitive if new scoring for the meet came out, so it is not like the identity would not be apparent from the available facts.
